Anthropic is developing a new personal finance tool that would allow its AI assistant Claude to connect directly to users’ bank accounts. Leaked screenshots of an unreleased version of the Claude iOS app show the company actively testing the feature, currently labeled “Claude Money.”

According to the interface spotted by the AI monitoring account TestingCatalog on X, the tool appears as a dedicated “Money” tab in the app’s sidebar, positioned just below the Chat section. The onboarding screen invites users to “Understand your money with Claude” and encourages them to link their bank accounts so they can ask questions about spending, financial planning, and related topics.

Once connected, Claude Money is expected to give the AI persistent access to transaction data. This would let users query spending patterns, review balances, identify recurring payments, and receive help with budgeting without needing to manually upload bank statements or spreadsheets each time.

Details remain limited. Anthropic has not confirmed which banks or financial institutions will be supported, how the connection process will work, or when the feature will launch. Industry observers expect an initial rollout limited to users in the United States, similar to comparable offerings from other AI companies.

The development places Anthropic in the growing field of AI-powered personal finance tools. While the ability to analyze real account data could make Claude more useful for everyday money management, it also raises questions about data privacy, security, and the reliability of AI-generated financial advice.

For now, Claude Money remains in internal testing and is not available to the public.
